Connecting Stripe
When connecting Stripe at the end of the Onboarding Form, you have two options - Express or Standard.
Connecting a Standard Stripe Account
You retain full access to the Stripe Dashboard, including the ability to process your own payments independently of A Noble Gift.
Your existing Stripe activity, such as payments from other income streams, will be visible within the connected account view. If your charity would prefer to keep this separate, we recommend using the Express option instead.
Connecting an Express Stripe Account
Stripe guides you through a simple onboarding process, and you'll have access to a lightweight dashboard showing your payouts from A Noble Gift.
Your wider Stripe activity remains completely separate - A Noble Gift has no visibility into any other funds your charity receives.
Any disputes or fraud liability relating to A Noble Gift transactions are handled by us, not your charity.
Select the left option for Express, or the right option for Standard if you wish to connect your existing Stripe account.
Please select the option you'd like to proceed with - this will redirect you straight to the Stripe onboarding process.
Please see below detailed guides to Express & Standard Stripe Connections:
Express Route
Once you've selected "Create a new Express Stripe Account", you will be redirected to connect.stripe.com - the official onboarding flow for Stripe Connect.
Business Type
- Business Type and Business Structure - please select Non-Profit and Charitable Company
Business Details - please have ready:
- Email Address and Telephone Number - these will need verifying with a one-time code
- Legal Business Name and Trading Name
- Charity Number
- Business Address
- Business Phone Number
- Industry
- Business Website
- Product Description
Personal Details - the "Account Representative" section requires:
- Legal First Name and Last Name, Email Address, Job Title, Date of Birth, Home Address, and Phone Number
You will then be required to upload all Director Details for your charity. It's important you spend the time to get this right, as missing information will be flagged by Stripe and delay the process.
Finally, you will add a bank account where your payouts will be sent. You will need:
- Sort Code
- Account Number - entered twice
Review - you will be given the chance to review your form. Please check it carefully, as this will minimise the chances of the onboarding process being delayed. If anything is missing, this is where you'll be prompted to complete those fields or upload documents before submission.
Once you press "Agree and Submit" and the connection is successful, you will be told that the Charity Stripe Account is connected to A Noble Gift.
At this point, please navigate back to the Charity Onboarding Form, and press "Verify Stripe is Connected".
This will run a check to confirm your Stripe account is connected.
When Stripe is verified as connected, you will see the following message confirming this:
As mentioned previously, should you require someone else to complete the Stripe process, you can use the URL of the form to pass this on. Full details here →
Once you press submit, you will be presented with the following message confirming your submission has been received by our team and is in review:
Standard Route
To connect your existing charity Stripe account, select the right-hand option, "Connect an existing Stripe Account". This will redirect you to connect.stripe.com, where you will initially be prompted to enter the email address associated with your existing Stripe account. If the account exists, it will then ask for your password.
This process varies depending on how you currently use your Standard Stripe Account and what additional information is required to connect it with A Noble Gift. Therefore, this flow will be different for each Charity connecting via this route. However, as a rough guide, the following information may or may not be required as part of the Standard Stripe Connect process:
- Business Type and Business Structure
- Contact details (email address and telephone number)
- Legal Business Name and Trading Name
- Charity Number
- Business Address and Business Phone Number
- Industry, Business Website, and Product Description
- Personal details for the account representative (legal first and last name, email address, job title, date of birth, home address, and phone number)
The required information will depend entirely on your current Stripe Account setup - you may already have lots of the above information saved to your account.
Once you've connected, as with the Express route, navigate back to the Charity Onboarding Form and select "Verify Stripe is Connected":
This will run a check to confirm your Stripe account is connected.
